Principals' Message

It is a pleasure to be a part of Academia Avance!

I have an extensive background in education. For over 13 years, I have had the pleasure to work as a math teacher, math department chair, and administrator in various cities across Southern California. In every school I have been a part of I have focused on these criteria:

• School culture is vital to a strong education
  
  
• Teachers and staff are dedicated to providing rigor in the classroom
  
  
• Students develop themselves to be well-rounded individuals and take advantage of many opportunities the schools and its community provides

It will be my goal this year to make sure that Academia Avance is the school to be not just in Highland Park, but also in the surrounding Los Angeles area. From getting to know the staff and students, it is truly remarkable the achievements they have made this year, including our high college acceptance rate, Senior internships, and being involved in our surrounding Highland Park community.
